Phil Castang
Phil Castang has over 25 years of experience of leading highly successful music, arts and education projects.
Originally training as a sound engineer, Phil spent much of the late 80s behind a mixing desk working with artists such as Adam Ant and Maxi Priest. He went on to produce numerous recordings including the album ‘Utopia’ for Peter Gabriel’s ‘Real World’ Records. Phil has previously worked as CEO of Newham Music and Director of Creative Learning and Engagement at Bristol Beacon, the largest concert venue in the Southwest.
Phil is CEO of Music for Youth, which is one of the 15 National Youth Music Organisations (NYMOs).
Phil recently served on the Department for Education’s advisory panel helping to write a revised National Plan for Music Education.
