About the event
In this seminar we will discuss mental health & well-being, mental illness and healing properties music can bring when in our darkest moments. We will explore where we are as a society in terms of our mental health and wellbeing, perspectives on where the greatest need lies and ways that music can profoundly affect a sense of wellbeing and empower recovery.
Our panelists will discuss the impact of music and mental health, the potential benefits this line offers to participants, and shifting the boundaries of what success looks and feels like. The panel will share their approaches and considerations when delivering music programmes in mental health settings, discuss training in trauma-informed practice within the music sector workforce, and how care and self-care can be embedded as well as transferred to more mainstream environments and in the community.
